The Isle of Man is a crown dependency that lies in the Irish Sea, juxtaposition between Scotland, Ireland and the Wales. Crown dependency means that the specific territory is under the ownership of the Crown in Right of the United Kingdom. Thus the monarch, Queen Elizabeth II, is the head of state of this land. She is recognized as the Lord of Mann.

The Isle of Man is a fairly independent kingdom that has its own administrative government in-charged with the daily affairs of the place. Nevertheless, issues of defense and international relation are within the jurisdiction of the United Kingdom government.

The Isle of Man has a total land area of 227 square miles. It is 33 miles long and 13 miles wide. Douglas is its capital and the largest town. Douglas is the heart of commerce, shipping, transport, entertainment and shopping in the area. The port of Douglas is approximately 16 miles away the northern town of Ramsey, 12 miles from the Castletown and around 11 miles from the port of Peel.

There are various sights to explore while you are in Isle of Man. There is the Wet Zone, Superbowl, Manxland, Orchan Pleasure Park, Curraghs Wildlife Park and the Manx Museaum. Not to mention the endless shores and resorts in Isle of Man. Great bets for entertainment are the Victorian Gaiety Theater, the Summerland, Erin Arts Centre and the Palace Cinema.
